Character design[ edit ] Rufus's initial design is a heavy contrast to his finalized appearance. The attire was later used as an alternate outfit for Ken. Midway through the process of recording the character's lines, however, art director Takashi Kamei proposed that they have the character be overweight, an idea Ikeno agreed with. Street Fighter IV's executive producer Yoshinori Ono likened his inclusion to that of Blanka in Street Fighter II , noting that Rufus' "over-the-top" design was intended to help set the game apart from the "really cool-looking but ultimately bland" characters of Tekken and Virtua Fighter. The development team agreed, feeling that his voice gave the character presence and fit Rufus' overall image.

Matt Meade, who runs sfrpg. The layout of the PDF is very reminicient of the style of the original books, which was just cool and convinced me I might be able to pull off similar layout niceness. So, as proud as I am for actually getting through and releasing SF20, it still contained only the rules from all of the published books compiled, and did not include characters, adventures and some setting information from the later books. Basically, SF20 is not a complete replacement for the original books, and so I haven't felt like I've really completed the job.

The Player's Guide - Styles, maneuvers, wacky Unique Backgrounds, filled out details on some core rules. The Fan Books Street Fighter: The Storytelling Game 20th Anniversary Edition - Compiles rules and incorporates errata from all six of the originally published books, creating a sort of deluxe book that is searchable and can be used to run Street Fighter now. It is complete, though there are a couple small errors, a bit of errata, and minor revisions to be done in light of an interview with the author of the Player's Guide, and to reflect the completion of the Companion when I get it done.

Image scanning, half-page character sheets, cover design, editing and layout remain to be done. That felt aggressive when I set it.

Then it felt conservative when I started out the gate. Now it is feeling aggressive again I hope I can keep it up!

Oh no, there's been an error

It's really great that Capcom or Udon Entertainment has decided to translate it and pushed it out so fast. Since the content didn't change, I'll just reuse my review for the Japanese edition here, with a few updates.

SF20 is a 20th anniversary tribute art book to Street Fighter, which was actually released in This More pictures at parkablogs. This is a pretty thick page paperback. It doesn't come with a dust jacket like the Japanese edition.

On the non-glossy pages are printed with over illustrations, paintings and sketches. The spine is a bit inflexible for a book this thick and will definitely have wrinkles if you open the pages too wide.

The illustrations are divided into chapters by artists, namely: The last chapter is a collection of work from other artists.

Since this is a character based game, you'll see a lot of character designs. They are a mixture in sizes from small portraits to the full page group splash art.

Most are full colored illustrations in myriad manga styles. There are captions for everything and several artists interviews.

Included also are the latest Street Fighter IV character profile designs used in the game. The art here spans over an impressive 20 years, I'm very sure there will be more to come. This satisfying thick compilation is recommended to all Street Fighter fans and collectors.
